Privacy Policy
Miles Bramwell USA, LLC, a Texas limited liability company, d/b/a Slimming World (“Slimming World”), has created this Privacy Policy (“Policy”) in order to demonstrate our firm commitment to the privacy of your personal information. The following discloses our information gathering and dissemination practices for this website (the “Site”).
This Policy tells you, among other things, what information we gather from you through our Site, how we may use or disclose that information, and our efforts to protect it.
1. Notice of Information Collected and Disclosed
In connection with your use of our Site, we may collect the following information:
- The domain name and/or IP address.
- The e-mail addresses of users who communicate with us via the Site or via e-mail.
- Aggregate information on what pages on our Site users access or visit.
- Information volunteered by the user, such as information provided if they register with the Site which may include name, address, email, phone, username, password, e-mail update requests, starting weight and height, credit card information, food diary, FIT log, and other personal information.
- Information about your transactions with us.
To process an order for books, other educational materials, or other items offered as part of our online program, we may require your name, billing address, phone number, email address, and credit card information. Providing the voluntary data described above is at your sole discretion. If you submit personally identifiable information to us through the Site, then we use your personal information to operate, maintain, and provide to you the features and functionality of the Site. We use both your personally identifiable information and certain non-personally-identifiable information (such as anonymous User usage data, cookies, IP addresses, browser type, clickstream data, etc.) to improve the quality and design of the Site and to create new features, functionality, and services by storing, tracking, and analyzing user preferences and trends.
Slimming World is the owner of the information collected on this Site. Except as provided in this Policy, we do not disclose any nonpublic personal information about you to anyone except as permitted by law, however, we may choose to disclose all of the information we collect, as described above, to companies that perform marketing services on our behalf or to other similar companies with whom we have joint marketing agreements. Your information may be disclosed to companies that provide support services to us in relation to those services, such as credit card processors, data processors, technical systems consultants and programmers. Additionally, this information may be shared with some Slimming World partners. Slimming World may share aggregate information about our users with advertisers, sponsors and other third parties, though such summary information will not identify any specifics directly related to your identity. We may also provide analysis based on the information we collect, to our strategic alliance partners and other risk sharing partners. We may use the personal identifying information you provide to administer Site usage and monitor traffic-levels, and to contact you regarding improvements we can make to our Site and our services, if necessary. We also may use IP addresses to analyze trends, administer the Site, track user movement, and gather broad demographic information for aggregate use. As we develop our business, we may buy or sell assets and, depending on the transaction, your personally identifiable information may be one of the transferred assets. Similarly, if Slimming World should ever merge with or be acquired by another company, we may share your personal information with any entity resulting from such transaction and if Slimming World should ever file for bankruptcy, the bankruptcy trustee has the right to sell the information you provide to us to a third party.
We may use your e-mail address to contact you directly regarding services, products or information that we believe might interest you. Only Slimming World (or agents working on behalf of Slimming World) will send you these direct mailings. If you do not want to receive such mailings, simply tell us when you enroll. Or, at any time you can easily opt-out of receiving further marketing from Slimming World by logging in to the website, visiting your ‘My Slimming World’ and updating your preferences.
By using this Site, you authorize us to disclose any information about you to law enforcement or other government officials as we, in our sole discretion, believe necessary or appropriate, in connection with an investigation of fraud, intellectual property infringements, or other illegal activity.
We will not sell, share, or rent this information to others in ways different from what is disclosed in this statement.
2. State Specific Disclosures
For California residents: Under California Civil Code Section 1798.83, also known as Senate Bill 27, if you are a California resident and Slimming World has an established business relationship with you, you have the right to request information from Slimming World, free of charge, regarding the manner in which Slimming World shares certain categories of your personal information with third parties (whether collected online or offline), for the third parties’ direct marketing purposes. California law provides that you have the right to submit a request to Slimming World at its designated address and receive the following information: 1) the categories of information Slimming World disclosed to third parties for the third parties’ direct marketing purposes during the preceding calendar year; 2) the names and addresses of third parties that received such information; and 3) if the nature of a third party’s business cannot be reasonably determined from the third party’s name, examples of the products or services marketed, subject to certain exceptions. You are entitled to receive a copy of this information in a standardized format and the information will not be specific to you individually. For purposes of this paragraph:
- “Slimming World” means Slimming World groups and the Site, and
- “Third Party” means:
- a business that is outside the Slimming World family, and
- affiliates of Slimming World.
At the time of this Policy’s adoption, Slimming World does not have any affiliates.
This same California law permits Slimming World to provide you, in response to your written request, with a cost-free means to choose not to have your information shared rather than providing the above described information.

Additionally, you may request that Slimming World not share your personal information with third parties for their direct marketing use by following the Choice/Opt-Out procedures outlined below.
For Vermont residents: Vermont law places additional limits on sharing information about Vermont residents. As long as a user remains a resident of Vermont, we will not share information we collect about Vermont residents to companies outside of Slimming World or to Slimming World affiliates, except:
- To companies that perform marketing or other services on our behalf;
- Contact information (like name and address), and transaction information (such as your payment history) with which we have joint marketing agreements;
- With the authorization or consent of the Vermont resident; or
- As permitted or required by law.
For Nevada residents: We do not share your Customer Information with nonaffiliated third parties for purposes of their offering products and services to you. You do not need to take any action to limit this kind of information sharing. 3. Your Disclosure Choices
You may, of course, decline to submit personally identifiable information through the Site, in which case Slimming World may not be able to provide certain services to you. To protect your privacy and security, we take reasonable steps (such as requesting a unique password) to verify your identity before creating your user account. The user that created the account for a user is responsible for maintaining the secrecy of the unique password and account information at all times.
4. Public Forums
The Site utilizes public forums, which may include blogs, forums, comments, message boards and other interactive features. Please remember that any information that is disclosed in these areas is not protected as confidential and becomes public information. You are solely responsible and should exercise caution when deciding to disclose any personal information in these areas.
5. Collection and Use of IP Addresses
We may use IP addresses to analyze trends, administer the Site, track user’s movement, and gather broad demographic information for aggregate use. IP addresses are not linked to personally identifiable information.
6. Cookies
We may use cookies (a small data file that certain Web sites write to your hard drive when you visit them), log files, clear gifs or web beacons (known as action tags or single pixel gifs) information to: (a) remember information so that you will not have to re-enter it during your visit or the next time you visit the Site; (b) provide custom, personalized content and information such as the services you subscribe to; and (c) to assess the popularity and effectiveness of the material posted on the Site. We may also use web beacons in connection with e-mails sent to users, to let us know whether and when the e-mail was opened. No personal information is transmitted through web beacons.
You can refuse cookies by turning them off in your browser. You do not need to have cookies turned on to use the Site. However, if you turn off cookies, then you may not be able to utilize certain features of the Site.
7. Competitions, Drawings and other Postings
By participating in Site competitions, drawings, posting on the Site forum and commenting on features, you agree that Slimming World may use this information for marketing and promotional purposes.
8. Confidentiality of Transmissions
Please remember that transmissions on the Internet are not always confidential. You are transmitting this information at your own risk.
9. Abuse of Terms of Use
We have the right to share your name and contact information with our attorneys and law enforcement officials, if needed, in the event we believe you have breached our Terms of Use Agreement or our User Subscription Agreement
10. Choice/Opt‑Out
If you prefer that we not disclose nonpublic personal information about you to nonaffiliated third parties, you may opt out of those disclosures; that is, you may direct us not to make those disclosures (other than disclosures permitted by law). If you receive communications from us that you do not want to receive, you can opt‑out from receiving these communications, by specifically telling us to stop sending them to you.
We will generally be able to give effect to your withdrawal on 30 days’ notice. If you wish to opt out of disclosures to nonaffiliated third parties, you may email your request to Slimming World at privacy@slimmingworldusa.com.
Slimming World Online Support E-mails. As part of our service to Slimming World Online members, to support you in your weight loss, we provide a series of e-mails throughout your membership. These start with a welcome and membership confirmation e-mail, and also include weighing in reminders and weekly support e-mails. You’ll be given the opportunity to opt-in to receiving these e-mails during your registration. Although our supportive e-mails are part of our service to you, you can opt-out or change your preferences at any time.
Slimming World Online Hall of Fame Posts. To publicly celebrate Slimming World Online members’ success, the Site includes a ‘Hall of Fame’ feature which lists the names and weight losses of those members who have achieved the top weight losses that week or month. You’ll be given the opportunity to opt-in to appearing in the Hall of Fame during your registration and you can opt-out at any time.
11. Recommend a Friend Policy.
During the registration process and during your time as a Slimming World Online member, you may share your success with your friends, and invite them to become Slimming World Online members. We will add one free month’s membership to your account for every member who joins as a result of your recommendation.
We ask that you only enter the names and e-mail addresses of friends who have given you permission to do so and who you believe will be interested in joining the Site. To receive your free month(s) the friend(s) must join online using the e-mail address you provided, and pay the enrollment and monthly fee currently applying (for example, they cannot be referred via a workplace program). If five friends join as a result of your referrals which comply with these terms, you will be eligible for a 12-month free subscription.
Previously submitted e-mail addresses cannot be re-submitted. You will only be awarded one free month per one friend who joins. In the unlikely event that your friend joins and then cancels within their first 7 days or does not pay the joining and membership fee currently applying, the free month (as applicable) would not be given.
Free months earned will be added to the end of your current membership. If you are no longer a member of Slimming World Online when your friend joins, the free months cannot be transferred or used towards re-joining the website. The free months are non-refundable and non-transferable. There is no cash alternative.
We will automatically send your friend one e-mail containing Personally Identifiable information, including your name and your friend’s name and e-mail address. Your friend’s data will not be stored or used for any other purpose, and we will not divulge this information to third parties. By taking advantage of this offer, you agree to take part in publicity relating to this promotion without compensation or further notice.
12. Onward Transfer (Transfers to Third Parties)
We will apply the Notice and Opt-out policies discussed above in the event we propose to disclose your information to a third party.
13. Security
Information you elect to post on the Site, e-mails and other information you send to us is not encrypted and such transmissions cannot be considered a secure means of transmitting sensitive information. You should be aware of the limitations of security, authentication, and privacy measures used in connection with the Internet and that any information you transmit through the Site may be damaged, corrupted, "sniffed" and/or accessed by another person without your permission.
Regardless of the precautions taken by you or by us, “perfect security” does not exist on the Internet. Third parties may unlawfully intercept or access transmissions or private communications, and other users may abuse or misuse your personal information that they collect from the site. Therefore, although we work very hard to protect your privacy, we do not promise, and you should not expect, that your personal information or private communications will always remain private. We cannot ensure or warrant the ultimate security of any information you transmit.
14. Linked Sites and Third Party Vendors
The Site may contain links to other sites. Please be aware that Slimming World may not be responsible for content or the privacy practices of such other sites. We encourage our users to be aware when they leave our Site and recommend that they read the privacy statements of each and every website they visit. This Policy applies solely to information collected by this Site.
15. Age Restrictions; Children’s Privacy
This Site is not directed at children under the age of 18 and does not knowingly collect personal information from children under the age of 18. If Slimming World obtains actual knowledge that it has obtained personal information about a child under the age of 18, that information is immediately and permanently deleted from our records.
16. Changes to Privacy Policy
We may occasionally change this Privacy Policy. If we do, we will post the changes on the Site. The changes will take effect as soon as posted.
17. Correct/Update
Slimming World provides users the following options for changing and modifying information previously submitted.

19. Acceptance of Privacy Statement
Your use of our website, including any dispute concerning privacy, is subject to this Policy, the Terms of Use Agreement and our User Subscription Agreement. BY USING OUR SITE, YOU ARE ACCEPTING THE PRACTICES SET OUT IN THIS PRIVACY POLICY, OUR TERMS OF USE AGREEMENT AND OUR USER SUBSCRIPTION AGREEMENT. We reserve the right to modify this Policy at any time by posting the changes on this page. Your continued use of any portion of our Site following posting of the updated privacy statement will constitute your acceptance of the changes.
